Introduction
These Terms govern your use of the Chez-Moi platform, including its websites, mobile applications, and APIs. By using the Service, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Service.
Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, clicking “I agree,” or otherwise accessing or using our Service, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge that you have read our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.
Eligibility & Accounts
- You must be at least 18 years of age to use the Service.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and account activity.
- Chez-Moi reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms or applicable law.
Identity & Compliance
Chez-Moi or its partners may request identity verification or run background checks for fraud prevention, AML compliance, or tenant screening. By using the Service, you authorize such checks to the extent permitted by law.
Payments & Billing
- Payments are processed by Stripe and subject to Stripe’s applicable agreements.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled in your account settings.
- Fees are displayed before purchase and exclude taxes. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.
- Billing errors must be reported within 30 days for resolution.
User Responsibilities
- Landlords & Managers: Responsible for listing accuracy, legal compliance, and communications.
- Tenants: Responsible for accurate information, timely payments, and cooperation with maintenance requests.
- Vendors: Must maintain required licensing and insurance and perform work safely.
- No Legal Advice: Chez-Moi provides technology tools, not legal, financial, or accounting advice.
Privacy, Security & Data Retention
Chez-Moi values your privacy. Our Privacy Policy describes what information we collect and how it is used.
- Data Retention: Account and payment data are retained up to 7 years for financial and legal compliance. Communications are retained for 24 months; backups for 90 days.
- Deletion Requests: Contact support@chezmoiinc.com to request deletion of data, except where retention is required by law.

Data Processing Addendum (DPA)
For customers requiring a Data Processing Addendum under GDPR or similar privacy laws, Chez-Moi offers a signed DPA upon request. The DPA governs data controller/processor relationships, use of sub-processors, and international data transfers.
Contact legal@chezmoiinc.com to request or execute a DPA. Once signed, it forms part of these Terms.
Arbitration & Class-Action Waiver
All disputes arising from these Terms will be resolved through binding arbitration under the American Arbitration Association (AAA) in Lane County, Oregon. You waive the right to trial by jury or to participate in class or representative actions.
The arbitrator has authority to grant injunctive or equitable relief consistent with these Terms. Each party bears its own costs, except as otherwise required by law.
E-Sign Consent
By using Chez-Moi, you consent to receive electronic documents, agreements, and disclosures. Electronic signatures have the same legal effect as handwritten signatures. You may withdraw consent by contacting us, but doing so may restrict your ability to use certain features.
SMS Consent
By providing your phone number, you consent to receive text messages for account verification, payment reminders, and notifications. Message frequency varies; reply STOP to opt out. Standard carrier rates may apply.
Limitation of Liability
Chez-Moi and its affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or lost profits or data. Total liability shall not exceed $100 or the total amount paid to Chez-Moi in the preceding 12 months.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon. All disputes are subject to exclusive jurisdiction of state and federal courts in Lane County, Oregon, except as otherwise provided in the arbitration clause.
